Like its brethren beverage, Country Club Grape (Uva) Soda, I found this drink at a corner store in Northeast Philadelphia. Initially I had a little more hope for good results out of this soda than the grape since this one says on the label "Natural and Artificial Flavors" while the Grape soda was only "Artificial." Plus, I had never come across a raspberry soda before. Plenty of cherry, strawberry and "red" pops, but never raspberry.
Well, all those expectations went down the tube with the first sip. First of all, it's waaaaaaay too sweet. Normally, I expect raspberry to be sweet, but not this sweet. Yeah, raspberry usually has a more full-flavored sweetness than a strawberry--this had way more than that. Plus, it definitely had a vanilla cream flavor to it. I was totally not expecting that since not even the bottle lists any vanilla flavoring (unless it's part of the "natural and artificial flavors.") So this is more of a "red cream" than a fruit soda if you ask me. As a raspberry soda it sucks. As a red cream, it's average.
Sweetened With: "high fructose corn syrup"
Verdict: worth trying at least once
