I first came across Cheerwine, a red pop, some years ago on a roadtrip when I was a youngster traveling to and fro Disneyworld. It appears to be a primarily Southern soft drink, as I've RARELY found it North of Virginia. Now, on a roadtrip back from Atlanta, a friend of mine came back with a bunch of sodas for me, one of which being Cheerwine. Though, this one is slightly different than Cheerwine I've had before as this is glass-bottled and sweetened with cane sugar.

And the cane sugar definitely makes a difference from what I remember it to be like. This is one of those red pops that tastes kind of like a cherry cola, but with lotsa cherry. Sweet and slightly earthy. Kinda like a less spicy Dr. Pepper. The label says "artificial wild cherry and other natural flavors." Does make me wonder if cherry is part of any of those natural flavors. All in all, I like it, but I can tell it's a bit of an acquired taste if you're not used to red pops.

Sweetened With: "cane sugar"

Verdict: Worth a bottle or two
