I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am not a fan of straight-up Creme Sodas. Just too sweet for my tastes. Yet, I am still drawn to reviewing them just to see how the variations on this traditional soda flavor varies from bottler/brewer to bottler/brewer. So here we are with Boylan's Creme Soda. Boylan's has been pretty solid with their entries, so maybe their creme soda will turn out palatable.
It is rather nice. It's not too sweet (which is the bane of creme sodas to me), with more emphasis on the vanilla flavoring. Could use slightly more carbonation, but the good outweighs the bad here. Only drawback I see is that it's only partially naturally flavored, as the ingredients list "natural and artificial flavors." I now have to track down their "Natural" Creme Soda to see if that's any better or worse than this one--and it does make a difference as the difference between their natural and regular colas and root beers have shown!
Sweetened With: "Cane Sugar"
Verdict: Worth a bottle or two
