More importanly though, is it any good? Is the taste all that different from regular Pepsi? Hell, is it any different from the sugar-sweetened Pepsi you can get from Latin American markets?
Well, I wanted to find out too, sooooooo . . .
Yep, I drove out and found me a Mexican Grocery Store so I can find some imported Pepsi to do this comparison. The Pepsi Throwback, I found at a Beverage Shop in Devon, PA. And the regular Pepsi . . . does it even matter where I got that one?
Anywayz, I tried the regular Pepsi first, then the Throwback, then the Import. Waited a few minutes then tried the Import, then the throwback, then the regular all over again, to make sure the tastes didn't change between the sampling.
Remember that "generic cola" aftertaste I so hate when trying colas? Well, the regular Pepsi featured that much moreso than the others, and it came out when doing this comparison. Said flavor is hardly noticeable at all in the Throwback, making it much more tasty.
YET, the imported Pepsi tasted best of all. There is no nasty aftertaste plus it just tastes fuller than the others. Now, that may just be due to the fact that the import is glass-bottled while the Throwback is out of a can, but still . . . in this throwdown, the import is the last one standing.
