Bedessee's West Indian Queen Champagne Kola

Bedessee's West Indian Queen Champagne Kola

I run across this flavor of beverage quite often when I go to a market that has a lot of "ethnic" foods as they are sometimes referred. I never really knew what to make of it. Champagne Kola just doesn't sound right to me. What kind of flavor am I to expect? Really doesn't seem to be a cola of any type since they're usually of a yellow/amber/orange/peach color and no indication of kola nut extract (though this brand, Bedessee, lists "natural and artificial flavors" in the ingredients soooooo . . . maybe!) In any case, this one supermarket near me in North Philly had this one brand on sale, so I thought I'd give it a chance.

Well, it DEFINITELY doesn't taste like a cola! It's got a kinda creamy, slightly fruity flavor. Not overly sweet by any means which is good, but I really don't know where to place it. Not really sure if I like it, but I don't hate it.

Sweetened With: "sugar and/or high fructose corn syrup"

Verdict: Worth trying at least once
